Batate Pohe (बटाटे पोहे)

Batate Pohe (बटाटे पोहे) is a common breakfast recipe that is very easy to prepare.
Ingredients
- 2 cups thick Pohe
- 1 potato
- 2-3 green chillis
- 1 tsp tamarind paste
- 4/5 curry leaves (कढी पत्ता)
- 3 tbsp oil
- Mustard seeds(मोहरी)
- Hinga(हींग)
- Turmeric powder
- Salt to taste and sugar
- Chopped coriander and fresh grated coconut
Recipe
- Wash Pohe under running water and keep aside for 15 minutes
- Peel one potato and make thin slices
- Heat kadhai to medium flame and add oil. Once oil starts to heat add mustard seeds(मोहरी), Hinga, Turmeric powder, chopped green chilli, curry leaves and potato pieces
- Cover the pan and let the potatoes cook until it becomes soft
- Add Pohe and tamarind paste, add salt to taste, 1/2 tsp sugar and mix well.
- Garnish with fresh grated coconut and chopped coriander
Serve Batata Pohe with Roasted or fried papad
