CUI has introduced waterproof M12 sized circular connectors for 1Gbit Ethernet.

The CDM12 family offers male or female versions with a choice of 3, 4, 5, 8 or 12 pins.

The panel-mount A-coded connectors are IP67 rated once mated to deal with harsh industrial and factory automation environments. Operation is over -25 to 80°C.

PCB pin, solder terminal and wire lead terminations are available, and connectors come in front or rear-mounting types with a retaining nut. While the connector mating thread is always M12, there are three options for the chassis mount thread: M12 x 1.0, M16 x 1.5 or PG9.

The part numbers are of the form CDM12xx, where filling in the ‘xx’ selects the mounting and termination type.

Connection ratings depend on the number of contacts, and are:  30Vac (8 and 12pole), 60Vac (5pole) or 250Vac (3 and 4pole), and 1.5A (12pole), 2A (8pole) or 4A (3, 4, 5pole).
