Kobi Muthia (कोबी मुठिया)

  • 1 cup grated cabbage (कोबी)
  • 1/2 cup chick pea flour(बेसन)
  • 1/2 cup fine sooji (रवा)
  • 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp chopped green chilli
  • 1 tsp Garam masala
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/4 tsp asafetida (हिंग)
  • 1 tbsp fresh coriander
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1 tsp sugar


  1. Grate 1 cup of cabbage and mix well all the ingredients mentioned in the list except for chick pea flour(बेसन) and sooji (रवा)
  2. Leave the mix for about 15 minutes and it becomes a bit wet, now add 1/2 cup chick pea flour and 1/2 cup fine sooji and mix well
  3. Heat oil on medium flame in a fry pan
  4. Make round or oval shaped tikkis as shown in the figure and shallow fry on one side and cover the pan with lid

  5. When the tikkis become golden brown in about 5 minutes, flip them over to the other side, cover pan with lid and let them cook on the other side till golden brown

Serve with Tomato ketchup, tamarind chutney and green chilly chutney
