Peanut Curry (शेंगदाणा आमटी)

  • 1 cup roasted peanuts (without skin)
  • 2 tsp Ghee
  • 3/4 cloves (लवंग)
  • 1 inch Cinnamon stick (दालचिनी)
  • 1 Kokam (आमसूल)
  • 1 tbspoon Jaggery powder (or sugar)
  • 1 Green chilli
  • Salt to your taste


  1. Grind 1 cup roasted peanuts (without skin) with 1 cup of water in a mixer and make a fine paste
  2. Add 2 cups of water to the mixture in a pot and add green chilli pieces, 1 tbspoon Jaggery, Kokam, salt to taste and bring it to boil. Let the mixture (Aamti) boil for about 5-7 minutes, then turn the heat off
  3. Heat a small Kadhai and put 2 tsp Ghee. Once the ghee melts and becomes hot add jeera, loves, cinnamon stick. Immediately add this Tadka to the boiling mixture (Aamti) in the pot. Shengdana Aamti is ready
