Pumpkin (भोपळा) Poori

Pumpkin Poori is a crispy sweet snack that can be enjoyed any time, you have an urge for a quick sweet bite. Rich in iron, pumpkin poori’s are good for kids and adults alike.


  • 1 cup Grated Red Pumpkin without skin
  • 3/4 cup Grated Jaggery
  • 1/2 cup Fresh grated coconut
  • Wheat flour
  • Cooking Oil


  1. Mix 1 cup of Grated Red pumpkin, 3/4 cup Jaggery and 1/2 cup fresh grated coconut in a thick bottom pan
  2. Steam the mixture on medium heat for about 5 to 7 minutes occasionally covering it to hold the steam
  3. Let the mixture cool and then add enough wheat flour and knead well till the dough becomes easier to roll
  4. Make small balls from the dough and roll these into Pooris
  5. Deep fry the pooris till golden brown on both sides
