Upawas Potato Subji (उपवास बटाटा भाजी)

Upawas Batata Bhaji


  • 5 medium potatoes
  • 3 tbspoon Ghee
  • 1 tsp Jeera
  • 2 Green Chilli
  • 1/4 cup peanut powder (दाण्याचे कूट)
  • Salt and Sugar to taste


  1. Boil potatoes and remove the skin, then cut into small pieces
  2. Heat ghee on medium flame in a Kadhai
  3. Add Jeera and Green chillis. If the ghee is hot enough then the Jeera immediately starts to pop
  4. Add cut potatoes, peanut powder and salt to taste. I also put a pinch of sugar
  5. Mix it well and let it cook for a few minutes
